Hi guys!!! Long time no talk! It’s been a tough (many) months. As it has been for so many of us! I’ve been working super hard to grow within myself and find peace and joy. In the process of trying to get to know myself and heal my own shadows, podcasts have been my number one positive tool. I put one on while I make and eat my breakfast and dinner, while I’m on walks, and often while I’m working in the background. I wanted to share my favorites with you! Here they are below. PLS let me know your favorites!
The Art of Joy – Ashlee Jensen & Trésa Martindale
This podcast has single handedly shifted my entire perspective and majorly helped me heal. Ashlee and Trésa are a mother daughter duo sharing their thoughts and stories on how they believe every life experience helps uncover our souls’ true potential. They’re so calming & have taught me to lean into my shadow to grow.
My favorite episodes so far:
Girls Gotta Eat – Rayna Greenberg & Ashley Hesseltine
This is no huge newsflash, but Girls Gotta Eat is what I turn to when I want a good laugh while also learning about different topics on dating & relationships. I LOVE their energy and outlook on life. Their confidence and humor is inspiring. At this point, they’ve covered pretty much everything, so you can scroll their episodes for what you want to hear. It’s too hard to pick a favorite episode, they’re all so good and their guests are amazing.
This is the most recent episode I listened to that I really loved:
Dare to Lead – Brené Brown
Dare to Lead teaches me a ton from the queen herself, Brené Brown. She has really insightful guests who have created, innovated, and paved their own way. Brené lifts up voices and stories that needs to be heard and listens and laughs and I just love her if you can’t tell.
I loved her episode with Abby Wambach on Abby’s book Wolfpack. I’m a huge Abby Wambach fan so this was like watching a Disney Channel crossover episode.
MOOD – Lauren Elizabeth
I absolutely love Lauren Elizabeth. She has been so open and honest about her struggles this past year it’s been nice to be like, wow, everyone is going through something. Listening to her podcast is like listening to an older sister tell you what’s really going on in her life and that everything’s going to be okay.
My favorite episode was with Tara Schuster, the author of Buy Yourself the F*cking Lilies.
How I Built This – Guy Raz
This is what I turn on when I’m in a girl boss mood trying to think of how I can invent something LOL. Guy Raz interviews powerful CEOs and they chat about how they built their business. It’s super interesting to hear how your favorite stores or restaurants came to be.
My favorites are the Lulu Lemon and Bobbi Brown episodes
WHOA That’s Good – Sadie Robertson
Sadie is the author of best-selling books Live and Live Fearless and a part of the Duck Dynasty family. She’s only 23 and super spiritual and positive. This is pretty religion-focused, so it might not be for everyone, but I love Sadie’s attitude and sometimes her guests are super cool, like Luke Bryan.
This one with Tim Tebow was interesting!
That’s been my general rotation these days! My favorite part about podcasts is that it feels so personal, like you’re listening in on a meaningful conversation. Please please let me know if you listen to any of these. I could chat about my podcasts for hours. And again, let me know your favorite podcasts and I will listen!
Lots of love,
Brenna
